Unravel Workshop ✨🪡🧵 // 9th, 16th, 23rd of July // 16:00-18:30 //

Led by artist/researcher Pamela Nelson & Gwen Parry from the HvA. // In partnership with de Modestraat  & Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam

 

Explore your personal narrative through stitching and storytelling! This workshop welcomes recent and long-term migrants of all ages and skill levels.

Over three days, you’ll introduce yourselves, share personal readings, and reflect on the message you’d like to convey to museum-goers at the Stedelijk. Inspired by stitching and storytelling, you’ll share and practice techniques and contribute to a collaborative final project, likely a book.

You will also be invited to experiment with the textile properties of thermochromic fabric, a textile that changes colour when exposed to different temperatures.

Don’t miss this opportunity to connect, create, and express your unique story through the art of embroidery.

 

Final work will be on display at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam in October 2024.

Workshop will be in English with translators available as needed.
